Baggage

A friend and I were speaking today about positive and negative people in our lives and it made me think. As a person I have a choice to be positive in almost every situation or to be negative about almost everything that life brings my way. I can, for example, have a terrible day. I have two options with regards to dealing with this situation: I can bring all the baggage (disappointment, problems and anger) along behind me all day and make it everyone else's problem around me. Or option number two: I can leave  that baggage outside the front door and see it as a day of life lessons and character building.

Don't you think that the people who choose to look at their lives in a positive light are the people who we want to associate with and who we look up to? Everyone can make a negative comment or degrade someone else, but it takes a person of character and love to say something that lights up another person's face or simply lifts the burden off another person's shoulder. So shouldn't we be challenged to rather be that shining light in other people's lives than the mop that continually leaves a soggy mess in its' path?
